My fear that robots will take over the world and exterminate us humans has been replaced by the fear that robots will take over the world and force us to be entertained by their theme park comedy act.

20th Century Fox Sets Isaac Asimov’s ‘The Caves Of... →
Similar to I, Robot (which Fox turned into a hit film with Will Smith), The Caves of Steel is a murder mystery that takes place 1,000 years in the future, on an overpopulated Earth where there is a phobia about robots. Overpopulated Earth? Fear of robots? Sounds like a modern-day story to me.

The Machine, a short film by Rob Shaw, beautifully illustrates humanity’s hubris in creating technology that then runs amok. In other words, it scares the pants off me. The Machine is being screened at Graphation, a film festival all about robots and zombies and the confluence of movies and graphic novels. If you’re into that sort of thing.

Japan robot to attempt Hawaii triathlon →
“The robot will encounter a lot of hardships on its way, but I hope it will overcome them all and succeed in the end.” This same robot super athlete walked 500 km from Tokyo to Kyoto. Bigger, faster, stronger … humankind is doomed.
